Dr Hassina Ebrahim qualified as a medical doctor and graduated MBCHB Cum Laude. During her undergraduate studies, she was passionate about children and their well-being, and decided quite early on in her young medical career that she would be a paediatrician.
She completed her Diploma in Child Health and then proceeded to complete the Fellowship in Paediatrics at the College of Medicine of South Africa. She also completed a Masters in Medicine Degree looking into adherence in children on Anti-retroviral therapy.
She has extensive experience in neonatal care, acute emergencies in paediatrics, as well as management of chronic conditions in children. She has worked in major hospitals in Durban and in Johannesburg at the neonatal unit of Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. Dr Ebrahim then set up private practice in Johannesburg, at Life Roseacres Hospital in Germiston.
She attends to newborn care, follow-up, inpatient paediatric care as well as outpatient paediatric care. Dr Ebrahim encourages well baby visits, and considers preventative care just as important.
At the consult, a detailed history is taken as well as a comprehensive examination is undertaken, with a detailed medical plan and management thereafter.
Child care is at the core of Dr Ebrahim’s practice, and she is passionate about child health and development.
